Cleopatra’s Baths

Cleopatra’s Baths is actually a large bay that contains some ruins which came down because of the earthquakes in Fethiye. The ruins of an ancient bath are sitting in shallow waters of Göcek Bay, surrounded by lots of pine trees and dark blue sea. According to the myth those baths are build as a present for Cleopatra to enjoy hot water spring. The water in the Baths abounds with minerals and elements that contain Calcium which is very good for skin. Many people claim that the minerals are the reason for Cleopatra’s beauty. The hot spring water was coming from a crater lake which is located behind the mountain. If you watch carefully you will see the sand moving, which means that the hot spring is still active today.
